In the mesmerizing world of City of Wind, where tradition and modernity collide in the life of 17-year-old Ze. As the revered shaman of his town, Ze navigates the delicate balance between ancient rituals and contemporary challenges. But when he crosses paths with Maralaa, a girl of contrasting beliefs, Ze’s world gets further shaken.

Directed by the talented Purev-Ochir Lkhagvadulam, City of Wind offers a poignant coming-of-age tale set against the backdrop of Mongolia’s evolving urban landscape. Through the eyes of Ze and Maralaa, the film explores the complexities of identity and belonging in a society shaped by both tradition and progress.

PUREV-OCHIR LKHAGVADULAM
Purev-Ochir Lkhagvadulam was born in 1989, and made several successful shorts including Mountain Cat (2020) which was selected at Cannes and Sundance. After winning the Best Short Film at Venice Film Festival and Toronto Film Festival with Snow in September (2022), her first feature City of Wind was selected at both festivals. The film was also set as Mongolia’s International Feature Oscar entry for 2024.
