은빛살구
For Jung-seo, on the verge of marriage, family is anything but a source of comfort. When she wins a coveted apartment lottery, the sudden pressure to secure the purchase sends her on a desperate mission to gather funds—leading her back to her estranged father, Young-joo, who runs a restaurant in Gangwon-do’s Mukho Port. What begins as a hopeful homecoming quickly turns suffocating as she confronts his new family and their conflicting desires. Amid the chaos, Jung-seo is forced to navigate their hidden agendas while confronting her own buried longings—until the lines between obligation and self-preservation blur beyond recognition.
Director Jang Man-min’s remarkably assured debut—celebrating its international premiere at Red Lotus—weaves Jung-seo’s animated vampire fantasy into her harsh reality, offering a poignant escape from the predatory world around her. As an animator, she crafts stories of supernatural menace, yet the film starkly reveals how her own family’s greed rivals the cruelty of any bloodsucker—or real estate speculator. Through biting social commentary and surreal interludes, Jung-seo’s journey crescendos to a moment of reckoning: will she remain entangled in others’ expectations, or finally claim her own future?
