My Favourite Cake
کیک محبوب من
70-year-old Mahin resides alone in Tehran following her husband’s passing and her daughter’s departure for Europe. However, an ordinary afternoon tea with friends leads her to disrupt her solitary routine, sparking a rejuvenation of her love life. As Mahin embarks on a new romantic journey, what begins as a chance encounter swiftly unfolds into an unpredictable and unforgettable evening.
Crackling with the bold energy of the ‘Woman, Life, Freedom Movement’, My Favorite Cake encapsulates the spirit of persistence and liberation. The film tenderly portrays an Iranian woman’s yearning for romance, infused with a subtle yet potent political undertone. Against the backdrop of governmental restrictions on women’s rights, the film delicately navigates the complexities of love and freedom. While the blossoming romance between two elderly individuals is captivating, it also carries inherent risks.
